This policy was last modified: January 01, 2025
The website you have entered (SecretCon.com, its sub-domains, affiliated websites, and any services available therefrom, including any mobile versions of the website or mobile applications) (the “Site”) is operated by SecretCon LLC (SecretCon or Secret Conference,” “we” or “us”). We respect your privacy rights and recognize the importance of protecting data collected from you and about you. This privacy policy (the “Privacy Policy”) describes how we collect, use, share, and protect that data. Your use of the Site constitutes your acceptance of this Privacy Policy.
a. We collect personal data when you voluntarily provide it to us.
We collect personal data from you in several different ways on the Site. Personal data means information that can reasonably be used to identify you personally (such as your name, handle, company, sex, phone number, address, and email address). We collect this personal data when you voluntarily provide it to us (such as when you submit an inquiry or apply for a job online). You can choose not to provide the requested data, but you might not be able to take advantage of certain Site features. We even ask you to agree to this anytime we ask you for this information.
b. We automatically collect data about your browser or device and your use of the Site.
When you access and use the Site, our technology and tools may automatically collect and record certain data (which does not identify you as an individual) about your use of the Site (your browser type, the make and model of device used to view the Site, unique device identifiers, and other information relating to your use of the Site, browser or device).
We also use various tracking technologies (such as cookies, clear GIFs, and/or pixel tags) to collect data about your use of and access to the Site. Cookies are small bits of information that may be placed on your computer by websites you visit, applications you use, or advertisements you view. Cookies alone tell us nothing about who you are. Pixel tags generate a generic notice of a visit to the Site. Pixel tags are used in conjunction with cookies to anonymously track the activity on the Site by a particular browser on a particular site.
c. Third-parties may also automatically collect data about you.
Some embedded content on the Site may be served by third-party content providers. Please note that these companies may also use cookies or other similar technologies to collect data about you, both on the Site and throughout the Internet. Data collection and use by those third-parties is subject to the privacy policies of those third-parties.
d. Our “Do Not Track” (DNT) Policy
Some websites have “do not track” features that allow you to tell a website not to track you. We do not currently respond to those signals or similar mechanism transmitted by web browsers. To learn more about browser tracking signals and DNT, please visit http://allaboutdnt.org.

We may disclose data to government or law enforcement officials or private parties as we determine, in our sole and absolute discretion, is necessary or appropriate to respond to claims or to comply with legal processes, to comply with laws, regulations or ordinances or to prevent or stop illegal, unethical or actionable activity. We don’t really want this to happen, so behalf, right?
e. Business Transfer.

We may even close without anyone going forward with the event, if that is the case, your data may sit on a hard drive until the next generation wonders what it is and throws it away.

With respect to the Site’s use of cookies and other similar technologies, by adjusting settings on your browser, you may elect not to allow cookies to be placed, and thus opt-out of certain features of the Site and the Site’s automatic collection of certain data about you. Or use a vpn, your smart, right?
You may remove certain tracking technologies and opt-out of online behavioral advertising messaging by using the opt-out tools available from the Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA Opt-Out Tool) and the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI Opt-Out Tools). Please note that these opt-out tools are device and browser specific, so you must repeat the opt-out from each of your browsers and devices. I’d also blast them data brokers all over the place with your favorite tool out there. Do it!
You may also adjust your advertising preferences on various social media websites by adjusting your Settings on the platform (for example, you may adjust the types of Facebook ads you receive HERE).
We use appropriate (yeah, it’s hard to define what that is, we know about your zerodays) technical and organizational measures to ensure a level of security appropriate to the risk and to safeguard your data in our possession. However, no data transmission over the Internet is completely secure and no security mechanism is impenetrable. Therefore, although we take steps to protect your data, we cannot guarantee the security of the data that we collect from you or the security of our servers or the Site. By accessing the Site, any transmission of data is at your own risk and you agree to assume all risk in connection with data sent to us or collected by us.

If you become aware that your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please email us at hello@secretcon.com

The information collected from our attendees as part of the registration process is used by SecretCon. Our goal is to improve on the overall experience today, tomorrow, and beyond.
Personally Identifiable Information: We use the term “personally identifiable information” to mean any information that could reasonably be used to identify you, including your name, address, e-mail address, credit card information, or any combination of information that could be used to identify you.
Dissemination of your Personally Identifiable Information: We do not sell any personally identifiable information collected through our ticket registration or our website. Your personal information will remain confidential and be used only by SecretCon. Aggregated demographic information may be made available to our partners, speakers or attendees, but at no time will that information be linked to your personal information in a public manner or sold to any third parties.
SecretCon vendors and partners may use their own methods or use a proprietary lead generation application that we developed in house or they found somewhere else to protect your personal information. The information from your ticket registration (Name, City, State, Country, Title, Company, Email or whatever else we deem relevant) will only be shared with vendors SecretCon has a deal with.
TL;DR Basically: We value your privacy. Privacy is a core expectation for these conferences. For many of us we use handles instead of our real names. We honestly try our best to protect your information. We may provide general sponsors with attendee lists, but have not as of this update of 01/01/2025. We do say in general what companies attend. We also want you to be informed and involved so we may email you occasionally about the event. We may sell your information to third parties, but as of writing this 01/01/2025 we have not. That would be super weird anyway, unless there is a truck full of money.
Photos and video may be taken at the event by authorized individuals wearing press badges and approved by SecretCon leadership.
