We are dedicated to providing an accessible conference experience, offering accommodations and support for attendees with disabilities or special needs.

SecretCon is an accessible event, and we are dedicated to continually improving our efforts to ensure you have access to all event amenities. We welcome and encourage all feedback and suggestions from our community.

  1. General

SecretCon’s event and venue provides facilities that are accessible to visitors with disabilities. For more information about the venue’s accessibility features, visit the venue’s website or contact us directly using our contact us form or call 414-404-0000.

We ask that all reasonable requests provide an advanced notice one month prior to our events. Submissions after the deadline are not guaranteed.

  1. ADA Credentials

SecretCon provides ADA access to individuals who may have mobility, physical, vision, hearing, cognitive, psychological, or other disabilities that might not be immediately visible. ADA access identifies you to our staff, the venue, volunteer crew, and security as someone who may need additional assistance.

Ticket Requirement: An ADA access does not provide admission; you must have a valid SecretCon ticket.

Pickup Location: ADA access can be registered up at Registration during check-in only with over one month notice to allow reasonable advanced notice.

Priority Seating: We strive to provide priority seating for attendees with disabilities as space allows. Seating is offered on a first-come, first-served basis, and we cannot guarantee seating for everyone. If you require seating accommodations, please arrive at least 30 minutes before a scheduled panel or talk.

3. Wheelchair Accessibility

We welcome attendees who use wheelchairs, mobility scooters, power chairs, or oxygen equipment. If you need to rent any of these items, you can contact us for more information.

  1. ADA Parking

Accessible parking is available at or near the SecretCon venue in designated spots. Please consult the venue’s official parking map or contact the venue directly to locate ADA-compliant parking areas. Standard ADA parking placards or license plates are required to use these spots.

  1. ADA Entrance

Before you arrive at the venue, visit the venue’s accessibility page for further information.

Should you need a specific drop-off location, please check the venue’s designated areas for accessible drop-off points. Curb ramps, automatic doors, and other features are typically provided to ensure safe access.

  1. Accessibility Services Desk

You must stop here to get your ADA registration and access (with one month advanced notice) There is ADA pre-registration before the event; all services are provided onsite only with pre-registration.

  1. Access Policies

Validity: Your ADA access is valid for the entire duration of SecretCon.

Companion: If a disabled attendee needs a companion’s assistance, that companion may also receive access without advanced notice. If you wish to switch companions, simply inform the registration desk.

  1. Service Animals

Service animals are permitted throughout the venue, with one month reasonable advanced notice, following the venue’s rules. However, at the discretion of the venue emotional support animals, therapy animals, or companion animals are not considered service animals and will not be allowed entry. Only animals that have been individually trained to perform tasks related to a handler’s disability and are under the handler’s control are permitted onsite.

Guidelines:

    • Registration: All service animals must be checked in at the registration desk upon entry.
    • Control & Behavior: Service animals must remain by the handler’s side, harnessed or leashed. If these devices interfere with the service animal’s work, the handler must maintain control using voice or other effective means.
    • Housebroken: Service animals must be housebroken and utilize designated relief areas.
    • Liability: Handlers are responsible for any damage or injury caused by their animal.
    • Vaccinations: Animals must have up-to-date vaccinations; staff may request proof for verification.
  1. Effective Communication & Additional Services
    • ASL Interpretation: To request ASL interpretation, please contact us at at least four weeks before the event to allow sufficient processing time. Submissions after the deadline are not guaranteed.
    • Closed Captioning / Braille / Large Print: If you need closed captioning, Braille or large-font print materials, or guided tours for individuals with visual disabilities, please use the contact us form or call 414-404-0000 at least four weeks before the event to allow sufficient processing time. Submissions after the deadline are not guaranteed.
    • Prescription Medications: All prescription medications must be in their original container, clearly labeled with the attendee’s name and matching photo ID. Only bring enough medication for the event duration.
  1. Quiet Room

SecretCon may provide a Quiet Room or area for any attendee who needs a sensory break. This room is intended to be a calm, low-stimulation environment. Please respect your fellow guests by keeping noise to a minimum and refraining from phone calls or other disruptive activities.

  1. Comments, Questions, & Suggestions

SecretCon will consider any reasonable request by a guest with a disability for modifications to our policies, practices, or procedures, or for auxiliary aids and services that would permit equal enjoyment of the event. We encourage you to make requests as far in advance as possible to ensure we can evaluate and fulfill them appropriately.
